Oregon Cancrinite Oregon Cancrinite Crystal Upper Center, Featuring the typical "woody" luster I find in some occurrences of Oregon Cancrinite. This crystal displays a yellowish gemmy Cancrinite center revealed by the beach sand, over time.. Cancrinite is a Zeolite. It is often striated. It is VOLCANIC, and typically found with other volcanic phyllite (layered) minerals such as Apophyllite and Fluorapophyllite. All three minerals are plentiful on the Southern Oregon Coast in mostly prismatic forms as opposed to massive in the crystallography, even the Cancrinite, of which I find large, colorful, prismatic hexagonal crystals with an oxidized outer coating that is often purplish-pinkish in color, with a woody or pocked, or warped outer texture that does not match the internal luster of the stones.
